WorldPoultry: McDonald’s introduces yolk-free breakfast sandwiches

US fast food giant, McDonald’s has announced plans to release a range of low calorie breakfast sandwiches incorporating only egg whites.

The new Egg McMuffin, aptly named the Egg White Delight as it contains only egg whites, offers 260 calories compared to 300 for a regular Egg McMuffin.

After launch of the new sandwich in the spring, McDonald’s intends to extend the option of egg white sandwiches to other breakfast sandwiches to cater for health-conscious consumers.
