The International Egg Commission (IEC) recognised outstanding achievements in leadership, marketing, innovation, and processing across the global egg industry at the recent IEC Global Leadership Conference Venice 2024. “The 2024 award winners represent the very best of the global egg industry,” said Greg Hinton, then IEC Chairman (now Immediate Past Chairman). “We are proud to recognise their achievements and contributions, which continue to shape the future of eggs worldwide.” Denis Wellstead Award for International Egg Person of the Year The Denis Wellstead Award recognises exemplary service to the industry. This year the award went to Thor Stadil in Denmark, whose journey in the egg business began nearly 50 years ago. It was said of Thor that from the very beginning of his career, he brought a unique blend of knowledge, determination, and vision to his work, identifying opportunities that would ultimately lead to extraordinary success. Golden Egg Award for Marketing Excellence The Golden Egg Award showcase featured 6 presentations highlighting how companies and countries worldwide are connecting with consumers to increase egg consumption. The award was presented to Noble Foods. Vision 365 Egg Innovation Award The OEC says that the Vision 365 Egg Innovation Award celebrates organisations that push boundaries to create innovative products that add value to eggs. This year’s winner of this award is Evova Foods Inc. in Canada, with particular mention to their product Egg-cellent Protein Puffs, which th IEC says demonstrates exceptional marketing and innovation, using egg white as the central ingredient, and delivering a new, healthy and nutritious snack. Clive Frampton Egg Products Company of the Year Award The Clive Frampton Award recognises those who have made a significant contribution to the global egg processing industry. Having shown a mix of hard work, innovation, passion and being a stand-up family, the path was paved for Ready Egg Products in Northern Ireland to become one of the most successful entities in the global egg processing industry. Special Recognition: Honorary Life Membership In addition to the annual accolades, the IEC awarded Honorary Life Membership of the IEC to Peter Dean in the UK. Peter was recognised “not only as having been a pioneer for our industry but as a true gentleman – admired for his leadership and integrity.
